DAMN!
It seems I do not get my front CSP wide 5 diskbrakes to bleed properly... I had this brake set-up in my old 57 oval beetle and it was running and braking without issues. removed it all to start the restauration of this oval. Now 1 year later I installed the gearbox+brakes and the double circuit master cilinder in my 55 convertible + front drums. All works fine and brakes were good! Now last weekend I switched the front drums to my front CSP disks and seems I can not bleed the system anymore... Any idea what I could try?? I just switched the drums and flex lines with the caliper and flexlines I had in my 57 oval (flex lines checked, they are not blocked). I have tried a few times to bleed the system, but to no succes. The pedal always goes up till the firewall, and no brake pressure. I have not found any leaks, and anyway the only part that was taken apart is the front flexlines from the hard lines... Any suggestions?? Could the calipers be broken from laying idle for a year?? If you have an idea I could try, send me a mail!! (see email button upper left) THANKS!

I got the new headliner for the convertible... now I just need to get that one installed (without removing the outer hood) The fabric is looking good! nice color and texture.

Tim just dropped by with his latest toy... a very nice 356:-) Awesome car!! Should get me one if these one day as well.... will be only dreams at the moment (unless someone wants to exchange one with the convertible)

Steering Box lift
What do you do if your splitscreen bus is too low and always hitting the street with the steeringbox?? Just lift it a few cm's:-) The section cut out... checking the position The removed section braced with some thick steel plates All in position + some reinforcements added. this will not move anymore:-) brakes pedal modified + steering coloumn shortened and reassembled Floorplate modified (see the little bump) What do you see... NOTHING ANYMORE:-) the steering box is no longer the lowest point!!
